Reptile Habitat Creation For Rail Improvement Project in Berkshire

New Leaf Ecology carried out a range of pre-construction surveys and mitigation measures for a rail improvement project at Cow Lane, Reading.

These included:
  • Creation of the reptile receptor area;
  • Relocation of common lizards to the new reptile receptor area;
  • Development of a Habitat Maintenance and Monitoring Plan for retained and enhanced habitats following construction, in collaboration with Network Rail.

New Leaf Ecology carried out the work on behalf of Homegrown Timber Rail, for Balfour Beatty Rail, with the project forming part of the wider rail improvement works at Reading.

"HTR have been more than pleased working with you on this project and cannot fault the service provided for the Ecology works at Cow Lane. New Leaf Ecology has provided a competitive ecology survey solution and our main client was very happy with the way that the project went and the professionalism of those involved. We hope that we will continue to work together for many more projects in the future." Paul Newman, Homegrown Timber Rail
